Self-Study Training Opportunities
Providers have the opportunity to use self-study videos to acquire in-service training hours for DCFS. Currently Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) has been distributing a video series: The Whole Child.

These videos have been developed for teachers, family child care providers, and others on our database concerned with quality care for all ages of children.
For a $20.00 fee, participants are allowed 3 weeks to view video and complete assignments. After completion, the participant will earn 2 hours of in-service training credit.
Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) Resource Center
The CCR&R Resource Center is open to those individuals and programs listed on the Child Care Resource & Referral database.
The Resource Center offers providers a library of books for adults and children. The books for adults are about topics related to early childhood care & education. Others resources in the center include early childhood training videos and educational learning kits to use with young children. Examples of the learning kits include: Measurement Take-Home Pack, Music Take-Home Pack, and Earth & Environment Theme Box. A child care provider (Family Child Care or Center) can check out up to three books/videos and 3 learning kits at a given time. These items can be checked out for one month at a time. This service is FREE to child care programs listed on the CCR&R database, once the program signs a membership agreement form.
Other items available for use at the CCR&R Resource Center: laminator (There is a fee.) and an accu-cut machine (Which is free if you bring your own paper.)

You may come during the week (Mon. – Fri.) by appointment only.
